Clinical Hypnotherapy

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is simply a natural state of relaxation and focus. It’s very much like or getting lost in a good book or film, or perhaps meditation if you have tried it. You’re still aware of where you are, and you’re always in control. It is a method of accessing the subconscious mind through a deep state of relaxation.  My role is to gently guide you into that calm, comfortable state where your mind can be more open to positive change.

I will ask you to listen to my voice as I guide you to a level of a deepened relaxed state which will enable you to bypass the conscious mind. Hypnotherapy bypasses the conscious mind which can create defences against the possible long-term goals of change.

When you’re in this relaxed state, the busy, overthinking conscious mind takes a step back, and the deeper part of your mind—the part that holds habits, patterns, and beliefs—becomes more receptive. This is where lasting change can take place.

People often describe the experience as deeply calming. Some feel light, some feel heavy, and some just feel peaceful. However, you experience it is perfectly right for you.

And just before we begin, I’ll always remind you of this: you’re in control at all times. All you need to do is get comfortable, listen to my voice, and allow yourself to relax—your mind will naturally do the rest.

Once in a deep relaxed state I will ask you to use imagery, stairs for instance. The use of metaphor, a staircase, suggesting that you are sinking deeper into relaxed, safe, calm state of mind.

When in complete sleep like state, I will use our pre-arranged scripts and prompts, I will ask you to permit yourself to hear these words at a subconscious level.

Using clinical hypnosis I am able to treat multiple conditions from confidence, trauma, addictions and matters such as concentration and focus.  It may help create a focused image, safe place or mantra which you can rely on as it becomes a part of you.
